Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or record number entered in a site search box is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and returns its result. Lincoln County Court Docket does not retain or log those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to this resource may be retained so a reply can be made. The message stays within the organization unless disclosure is required by a legal obligation.

Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files stored by a browser. Analytics services may use them to measure page use and traffic patterns. Browser settings can block cookies, although parts of the resource may work differently as a result.
What We Do With This Data
Technical and message data may be used for ordinary operation and maintenance.
- Keeping pages available and responsive

No Court-Record Data on File
Lincoln County Court Docket does not host, compile, maintain, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case-record data. It publishes general routing information for records held by the Lincoln County Clerk of Superior Court, the trial courts, and the North Carolina eCourts Portal. The clerk's recordkeeping and public-inspection role is governed by G.S. 7A-109, subject to legal access limits. Visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party files.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes on certain pages. Information entered in those tools is subject to the provider's privacy policy, retention rules, and sharing practices. Lincoln County Court Docket does not control those practices, so review the provider's policy before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to clerk pages, court portals, statewide case-search services, legal-aid resources, and third-party search tools. Once a visitor leaves this resource, the destination's privacy policy controls. Advertising partners may also measure activity across sites through their own systems.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Information may be received by the service providers needed to run the resource or by entities legally entitled to it.
- Search partners that process a submitted query
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Advertising networks serving page ads
- Government or law-enforcement bodies responding to a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used to protect the information collected. Internet systems cannot be made risk-free, however, and no promise can be made that an unauthorized access event will never occur.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from people under 18. If a minor's information is believed to have been provided, contact the organization so it can be removed.
Your Data Rights
North Carolina has no single comprehensive consumer-privacy statute that gives every visitor the same set of access, correction, deletion, or opt-out rights. Court-record access is separately controlled by court rules and statutes, including G.S. 7A-109, rather than this privacy policy. A visitor may still ask to:
- Receive a copy of personal information held about that visitor
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Request deletion of personal information where retention is not required
- Object to selected processing where an applicable law supplies that right
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised in the future. A revised version becomes effective when posted on this page.
